Blogging

I'd love to know where and how this blogging kick started. It's sure big in the writing world as a method of keeping in touch in what can be a lonely profession and also as a splendid way of marketing one's books.
So far I'm loving it but I have had several comments about how many blogs fade out, the postings coming further and further apart and then dying. I can see the problem many bloggers face - few or no comments. That doesn't mean no one goes to their blogs, but it feels like it. That makes it just one more lonely activity with no feedback. However, there are several blogs out there that get considerable traffic. They are consistent with their postings and always interesting. For example, my dear friend, Nancy's blog: http://natureshows.blogspot.com/ But there are other bloggers out there that I have stumbled upon by accident and they are just as interesting but getting no comments. What makes the difference? Any ideas?

Good morning, Suzanne!

Thank you for the mention. :D I owe much of my traffic to blogging communities I have joined like Blog Catalog. Finding friends with similar interests has been a journey that has excited me since I began the adventure. I have grown by leaps and bounds in the understanding and appreciation of different cultures.

I also search through the Yahoo blog directory and post on blogs there.

You have such a great personality and interesting life writing and travel-wise that I know bloggers and viewers will love you. I wish you many posts and much blogging success. :D

Have a great day!

OH, I'm also listed on Technorati.

Hugs, JJ/Nancy

What Nancy said. ;)

I agree. There are lots of blogs out there that are intelligent, fun, witty, etc., yet they get little or no traffic. I think word of mouth has a lot to do with it, and the avenues Nancy mentions.

And I agree--I'm sure yours will take off, just as your writing will!

Wild wave to Suzanne and Raine!

It's a sunshine, blue sky morning. YAY! That still can happen.

I have my internet visits done and will begin reading through my mainstream ms so I can finish it.

I figured out the black moment in an unusual way.

Have a super day, beloveds!

And thanks for the compliment, Suzanne.

Hugs, Nancy

Hi Suzanne!

We're in another snowstorm but the snowflakes are floaty and beautiful.

I had a dental visit and the dentist had ridden his snowmobile to work. A distance that's an hour from here. LOL He stopped for coffee and found out it was -16F. Brrr. No wonder it was cold this morning. I don't envy him the ride home.

Have a super day.

Hugs, JJ/Nancy
