Your Favourite from the Five

As I have told you, I am able to design my own book cover for "Rough Justice" and I have been busy doing just that.

This time I am going to ask for your favourite of my five drafts instead of this being about my favourites. Please let me know which you prefer.
First, here is a short blurb to help you understand my designs:
When Niki’s partner, Logan, is kidnapped by poachers in Zambia, she tumbles into the sordid underbelly of a world where survival reigns and animals are sacrificed for financial gain. In order to rescue her man, she will fight all the way to the top and be stunned by what she finds there.
Okay, here goes.
No1. --------------------------------------No. 2

No.3 ---------------------------------------No. 4

No.5

Interesting project. I like #2 but can't imagine elephants fitting the story. And the #5 is so plain and what you would expect to find. So of the three left I would probably go with #1 and don't ask me why. LOL

Who is your publisher?

Thanks for visiting my blog.

For this book, Red Rose Publishing is my publisher. The story is about poaching elephants in Zambia so that's where the elephants come in. Yes, no.5 is very conservative.
Thanks so much for letting me know your choice. It will be interesting to see which one the publishers pick.

I like 1 or 2. I think No. 5 is too "male"--looks too hunting oriented. If you feel compelled to get your heroine in there, then #3.

Good job!

I like 2, 3, and 4.

5 rocks but doesn't look heroine oriented.

Wild wave!!!

Thanks Erica. No 2 actually has the heroine in there too but she is quite faint and the image is not that clear. My son said I shouldn't even have put no 5 in the group. He doesn't like it.

LOL, Nancy, that leaves it wide open. I love the colours of No.5 but it could be too simplified.

I love the colors of #5 too, but get no sense of "romance" about it at all.
I'd choose #1.

I really like them all, but taking into consideration the size of the book and how the cover will look, I think #3 would be the clearest - It looks very African; you have good clear image of the heroine in the foreground, the elephants, and spilled blood. The cover tells a story.

Raine, no. 1 is the last one I did. The art department at Red Rose has just asked for the covers to be sent so soon I will know their choice too or maybe they don't like any.

Thanks, Sandpiper, I keep going back to no. 3 too even though it's not the most immediately striking. I think your explanation might explain why.

I liked # 5.
The colours.

Yes, Bernita, the colours are my favourites as you can see from my blog but it was my first attempt and I think I went too conservative.

Hi Suzanne,
I hesitate to "vote" this late in the game, when you may already have decided!
They're all decent, but I'm most drawn to #1 and #5. #1 most of all, because it has the color elements of #5 and a good hint at what lies within (the elephants framed in a heart).
That said, I'd pick up any of them when I saw your name on the cover!

Heather, you're wonderful. And thanks for voting. I'll announce the winner in the next few days.
