Today I thought I would blog about something completely different - my uncle's fishing lodge and game farm on the Zambezi River in Zambia. He has created a paradise on earth but now ill health necessitates a change of plan and he has decided to sell it.We visited there a few years ago and loved it. The lodge is built on a hill overlooking the Zambezi River and is situated on a privately owned Game Ranch which is fully fenced.
It is called Tiger Mile Lodge because of the Tiger fish that inhabit the river in that area. The property is 3100 + hectares (7660 acres) in size with approximately 30 kms of game fencing (2.5 metre tall with 17 strands of 2.24 mm high tensile fencing wire), including 5 kms of Zambezi River frontage.

Last night Jeff and I caught the beautiful sunset on Lake Huron with the neighbors, only we all inhaled mosquitoes. They were everywhere.

Nancy, mosquitoes are probably good protein so inhale away. Oops that would mean they are going into your lungs - not good.
I have great photos of the lodge and my African trip but most are not digital so I would have to scan them which gets a little more complicated. I'll see what I can do.

Boy, that sounds wonderful! It looks beautiful. I love Africa, and lately I hear it calling me back to visit again. A shame that it has to be sold, but I guess time moves on and changes are sometimes necessary.
Sandpiper, it's a strange thing about Africa - it gets under your skin and stays there. I'll sure never forget it.

I agree completely. I've never been anywhere that got under the skin quite the same way. I want to go back to Kruger sooooooooooo much!
Kruger was our first contact with Africa and I just loved that sensation of spotting a particular animal for the first time. How can I forget my first lion, my first rhino, my first leopard and so on. Out of this world.
