In Bruges
I saw this on DVD last night and am sorry I didn't see it in the cinema because Bruges is so beautiful. A friend told me they didn't like it so I didn't go. Stupid me! It's one of the best films I've seen in a long time.
All the actors were amazing and who knew that Colin Farrell could show such a range of emotions with the flinch of a facial muscle. The one liners were sharp, witty, numerous and superb. In fact the whole movie was a one liner.
This is the darkest comedy I have ever seen but the screenplay, the directing, the acting lift it to the top ranks of moviemaking. Watch for the symbolism everywhere, especially in the art gallery and at the end.
Remember it is dark and every second word is a swear word but listen hard and you will be totally amazed at how ingenious the script is. Brilliant!

I hadn't even heard of this one, Suzanne. ~Glad to know a good one to be looking for...
I may have to check it out then. Think it's on cable somewhere.
It's different, Heather, but I loved the dialogue. In fact it was nominated for Best Screenplay for an Oscar and Colin Farrell won a Golden Globe for his acting. Well deserved.

Well worth seeking out, Raine. Rather irreverent in parts but I'm tired of the politically correct thing anyway. A certain level is necessary but it's been taken far too far.

~Hope things are well with you, Suzanne!
I'm fine, Heather. Just staying below the radar for a bit so I can get on top of things.

In Bruges sounds like it has great plotting but I couldn't get past the swear words. That would drive hubby and I to distraction. I'm glad you could look past that and let us know what a great DVD it is!!!
Happy Easter, dear Suzanne!!!
Yes, Nancy, this is possibly not a movie for you. I wasn't sure if I could keep watching it but am very glad I did.

Swinging by for a wild wave. I hope your weather has stayed warm. Our spring holds a shiver that won't let go!
Hugs, Nancy
Wild wave, Suzanne. How are you doing? My daffodils have blossomed but the weather has stayed chilly. How are you, dear friend?
Hi Nancy. I really must blog this weekend but sometimes it's either writing or blogging and I have to let the writing win.
The weather is still warm but it must change soon.

Heather, I'm being a bad girl with my blogging but something had to give and it was this. But I will try to do better. Promise.
Erica, I can imagine you loving this movie. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I thought it came from a brilliant mind.

I agree with your assessment. I recently saw it (on a TV) and thought it really excellent and entertaining. And Bruges came out looking wonderfull too.
Mark, it stands alongside Rock 'N Rolla and Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in my opinion. I loved them too.
